Who we are
The Learn Factory (“LearnFactory”, “we”) is a technology training hub at 44b Aba-Owerri Road, behind MTN Building, Umungasi, Aba, Abia State, Nigeria. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
- Programme applications: identity details (NIN and ABSSIN), date of birth, gender, contact details, address, photograph, course and centre preferences.
- Health information you choose to provide (blood type, blood group and medical conditions).
- Next of kin details.
- Exam, attendance and result records.
- Enquiries and waitlist sign-ups: your name, contact details and message.
Why we use it
- To assess eligibility, verify identity and residency, and run selection for programmes such as TechRise.
- To organise exams, training, attendance and results, and to contact you about your application.
- To support your wellbeing in class, where you have shared health information.
- To reply to enquiries and to tell waitlisted people when applications open.
Who we share it with
For government-funded programmes such as TechRise, we share applicant and trainee records with the Abia State Government and its relevant ministries and local governments, who fund and oversee the programme. We use trusted service providers to host data and send emails. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep programme records for as long as needed to run and report on the programme and to meet legal and funder obligations, then delete or anonymise them.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. To make a request, email info@learnfactory.com.ng.
